Andrew J. Kovarik focuses his practice in health care law, nursing home liability, medical malpractice defense and general litigation. During his 28-year career, Mr. Kovarik has defended multiple area hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, same-day surgery centers and individual physicians and nurses. He has defended claims across the spectrum of health care litigation including: birth injury, cardiac care, emergency medicine, anesthesia related complications, surgical complications, delay in cancer diagnosis, decubitus ulcer/wound care, falls, plastic surgery claims, spinal cord injury and psychiatric care.
Mr. Kovarik has also represented a variety of clients in general litigation, from slip-and-fall cases to food poisoning cases. He has participated in all aspects of civil litigation, including cases that have gone to verdict in the Circuit Court of Cook County. He has lectured to physicians, nurses, hospitals, risk managers and organizations on medical/legal issues, most recently to members of the American Association of Surgical Physician Assistants regarding preparing for depositions. His peers have also recognized him with an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
