Johnson & Bell offers a variety of opportunities for new associates, lateral attorneys, paralegals and administrative professionals. We opened our doors in 1975 and over the past four-plus decades have grown to a firm of approximately 90 attorneys, backed by a similar sized staff. Our attorneys work in a variety of practice areas and many of them have been with us since the beginning of their careers. Client cases are concentrated mostly in Illinois and northwest Indiana, but we also regularly handle matters throughout the Midwest.
We value innovative thinking, problem solving and hard work. Our attorneys and staff take pride in what they do and strive to exceed client expectations. We also encourage our attorneys and staff to pursue interests outside the office, recognizing that balance is important in life.
If you like to try cases, Johnson & Bell is a great place to practice. Our trial attorneys typically focus their practice in two or three areas. As a firm, we often are retained by clients to handle their most complex or demanding cases. Our clients ask for and expect a high level of courtroom expertise from a J&B attorney, and we deliver.
That said, we also have a growing corporate and commercial practice that handles transactional needs for private and family held companies, banks and other financial institutions, medical practices, real estate companies and more. Younger attorneys can expect to practice in three or four areas so they acquire experience and assess the type of legal practice they would like to build.
Johnson & Bell fosters a collegial atmosphere and works hard to keep it that way. We sponsor events for attorneys and staff throughout the year, and host client-focused events on a regular basis.
If you are interested in working for a firm that values work / life balance, professional development, a team-oriented mindset where diverse talents and skills are valued, please reach out via the form below and we will contact you for a conversation.
