Sam Branum Obtains Defense Verdict in Federal Civil Rights Trial

J&B shareholder Samuel Branum recently secured a defense verdict in a federal trial in which he was representing a long-time governmental client. The case was tried before Judge April Perry in the USDC Northern District of Illinois and stemmed from the treatment of a county jail detainee at an outside hospital while ill with coronavirus. The plaintiff sued on the basis that his rights were violated under the 14th Amendment during his treatment. The jury reached a defense verdict in just over 30 minutes. This case was made more significant since it was the first trial in a series of cases alleging the same claim by plaintiff's counsel. Congratulations to Sam on achieving such a great result.
