Margaret A. Connery concentrates her practice on the defense of hospitals and healthcare professionals against claims of medical malpractice. She practices in both state and federal court, and has represented clients in a wide variety of personal injury insurance defense matters. She has vast experience representing hospitals, nursing homes, physicians, and other health care professionals in all phases of personal injury litigation, including various appeals. These cases have included high-exposure matters involving catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims. She has participated in several trials throughout her career and has successfully avoided trial by obtaining summary judgment on various occasions.
Margaret graduated cum laude from The John Marshall Law School in 2014, where she published “Some Thoughts on the Pilot Program for Simultaneous Disclosure of Expert Witnesses in Cook County,” for the John Marshall Law Review in 2013.
Margaret is a member of the Chicago Healthcare Risk Management Society (CHRMS), as well as a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Chicago Bar Association. Through that participation, she has learned to provide prospective guidance to her diverse group of clients. Ms. Connery was recognized as a "Rising Star" by Illinois Super Lawyers in 2020-2024. She also was recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America in 2022 and 2023.
