With a practice focus on food borne litigation, Johnson & Bell Shareholder, Stephen P. Ellenbecker, served as a featured presenter at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s FDST 951: Advanced Food Science Seminar. The March 13 event was sponsored by the University’s Department of Food Science and Technology. Mr. Ellenbecker’s presentation, “Whole Genome What? Genetic Fingerprinting in Litigation,” was attended by students and professors in the Food Science Department. His presentation provided an “in-the-trenches” perspective on food borne illness issues from outbreak through traceback investigations to resolution of the issue. Mr. Ellenbecker is a trial attorney who handles litigation involving claims of food borne illness, as well as product liability, construction and catastrophic injury lawsuits.
