On Tuesday, May 12th Johnson & Bell shareholder Katie Gorrie spoke at the Archway Risk and Claims Workshop, organized by Captive Resources. Katie was part of a panel called, “Partners in Defense: A Collaborative Approach to Liability Litigation.” She specifically talked about adapting litigation strategy in “plaintiff-friendly” jurisdictions, and the factors that determine whether a case should proceed to trial. These are both topics that Katie deals with extensively in her practice, which focuses primarily on general negligence and premises liability for the construction industry. Katie was joined by other accomplished Chicago-area risk management and insurance claims professionals from Gallagher Bassett, Old Republic Risk Management, and Thompson Machinery.
