Belovol Secures Dismissal for Transportation Client in Cook County

Congratulations to Johnson & Bell associate Maxim Belovol for securing a dismissal in the case of Flores v. Plunket in the Circuit Court of Cook County. The matter involved a motor vehicle collision that occurred in February 2021. The plaintiff alleged that the defendant was negligent in operating his vehicle driven as part of his employment, resulting in injuries and property damage to her. However, Maxim filed a motion to dismiss arguing that, pursuant to Illinois Supreme Court Rule 103(b), the plaintiff did not exercise due diligence in serving the correct defendant, causing unreasonable delays in the case process. Because the dismissal was granted with prejudice, the case is now closed and the plaintiff can no longer bring these claims to the court. Congratulations on a great result for our client.
