Thomas F. Burke

Thomas F. Burke has represented clients in a wide variety of litigation matters, including complex commercial and class action litigation. He also has significant expertise in the investigation and application of regulatory law and in regulatory disputes, arbitration, enforcement and appellate matters in the fields of securities law and commodity futures law. He has represented individual investors, brokers and brokerage houses, thereby giving him a perspective from many sides of the trading relationship. He has represented clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts, as well as before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (formerly National Association of Securities Dealers), the National Futures Association, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the American Arbitration Association, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Chicago Board of Trade.

Mr. Burke works directly with each client to ensure that the client will receive the best possible legal representation. He conducts a preliminary interview with each client and reviews all relevant account papers and statements to obtain necessary information which enables him to make an initial determination of the viability of each potential claim or defense. If the case proceeds to a filing stage, he will draft pleadings, and will coordinate all phases of discovery. He will prepare all clients and witnesses for litigation, and will expertly and forcefully present his client's claim or defense at trial or hearing.
