Sarah J. Lynam

Sarah Lynam is a defense litigation associate with experience representing hospitals, physicians, universities, businesses, and other institutional clients in complex litigation matters. Her practice focuses on defending clients in healthcare litigation, including claims involving medical negligence and professional liability, as well as a broad range of civil disputes. In addition to her healthcare litigation practice, Ms. Lynam has experience defending clients in class action lawsuits, general negligence and premises liability matters. She has also represented clients in commercial construction disputes, providing counsel throughout the litigation process. Her experience includes all stages of litigation, from case evaluation and discovery through motion practice, depositions and trial preparation.

Ms. Lynam recently served as second chair in a jury trial in Will County, where she successfully defended a physician against claims of negligence. After deliberating for less than 50 minutes, the jury rendered a not liable verdict in favor of the physician.

Ms. Lynam joined Johnson and Bell two years ago. Prior to that, Ms. Lynam was a judicial extern for the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota and was a law clerk for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Minnesota. Ms. Lynam obtained her J.D. and Bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

Ms. Lynam has both her Illinois Supreme Court and Northern District of Illinois license.
