Paul A. Nicolosi III concentrates his work on a variety of civil litigation matters, including transportation, hospitality, retail, premises liability, and insurance coverage. He is a lifelong “Region Rat,” having gone to college and law school and having established his professional career in Northwest Indiana.
Prior to joining Johnson & Bell, Mr. Nicolosi worked as an attorney for a local firm, concentrating his client work primarily on family law, employment, municipal, zoning, and commercial litigation. Before that, he served as a Staff Attorney with the Indiana Department of Child Services, in which he handled Child in Need of Services and termination of parental rights cases, as well as administrative appeals, working not only in Lake County but also providing coverage in Tippecanoe and White counties.
Mr. Nicolosi earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration and Legal Studies from Calumet College of Saint Joseph and a J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law.
During his time at Valparaiso, Mr. Nicolosi was a member of the law school’s Moot Court Society. He was also a co-founder of the Valpo Law Blog, a legal blog dedicated to analysis of state and federal precedent as developed in the 7th Circuit states (Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin), as well as precedent set by the United States Supreme Court. Additionally, Mr. Nicolosi served as a student representative for the law school’s Student Bar Association, was a mentor to 1Ls through the law school’s student mentor program, and was a tax preparer for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program.
He also served in a variety of internships and externships during law school. He worked with two judges in the Lake County Superior Court, drafting memoranda and orders and researching various legal questions. Mr. Nicolosi was also a summer associate at a Chicago law firm in which he worked employment, civil rights, premises liability, and medical malpractice cases, and was a student intern with the Valparaiso University Post-Conviction Clinic, working on post-conviction appeals.
