Nelson A. Aydelotte is an associate in the retail, general negligence, and municipal liability practice groups and concentrates his client work on municipal liability, governmental tort liability, retail, and general negligence, with a focus on premises liability and pharmaceutical negligence.
Mr. Aydelotte began at Johnson & Bell as a law clerk, a position he held for two summers before being admitted to the Illinois bar in November 2024. During his time as a clerk, Nelson gained experience in a wide variety of practices at the firm. Prior to joining the firm, he served in the Federal Public Defenders Office in Urbana, Illinois, where he assisted in litigation for Federal District Courts, Federal Appellate Courts, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Aydelotte earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Texas A&M University where he graduated magna cum laude. He received his J.D. from The University of Illinois College of Law, graduating cum laude. At law school Mr. Aydelotte founded and was president of the National Illini Lawyers Association and served as the vice president of the Health and Elder Law Society.
