Michael Halpin is an associate in the Health Care practice group and concentrates his practice on defending medical malpractice cases involving hospitals, universities, physicians, nurses, and nursing homes. Before joining Johnson & Bell, Mr. Halpin was an Assistant General Counsel with the Cook County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), where he focused on data privacy and data management, contracts and procurement, and served as one of CCSO’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) officers.
Mr. Halpin graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he obtained a certificate in Workplace Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution from the Martin H. Malin Institute for Law and the Workplace. Additionally, he served as a Student Editor for the Illinois Public Sector Employee Relations Report. Before law school, Mr. Halpin graduated cum laude from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where he obtained a B.A. in History and Political Science. When he is not working, Mr. Halpin enjoys spending time with his wife and two corgis: Pistachio and Cannoli.
