Kaitlyn M. McCaskill is an associate in the Health Care and Municipal Liability practice groups and concentrates her client work on civil rights law, prison litigation, health care law, employment law, and general liability matters. Her clients include Chicago area hospitals and universities, nursing homes, physicians, nurses, local municipalities, law enforcement officers, and security personnel.
Prior to joining Johnson & Bell, Ms. McCaskill served as a law clerk at a plaintiff’s personal injury firm that handled cases focused on general negligence and medical malpractice.
Ms. McCaskill earned a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy, with a minor in Sociology, from Louisiana State University (LSU). She earned her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she was an extern for the Circuit Court of Cook County, Law Division, a legal intern at a boutique criminal defense law firm in New York City, and a legal extern with Federal Public Defenders for the Middle District of Louisiana.
While in law school, Ms. McCaskill was a member of Moot Court Honors Society, participating in several national moot court competitions, and she continues to judge moot court competitions since graduating. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association. Beyond her legal pursuits, Ms. McCaskill is an avid art collector and enjoys cheering on LSU's football and baseball teams.
