The Federal Bar Association Chicago Chapter posthumously honored former Johnson & Bell Shareholder, Daniel C. Murray, with the Frank J. McGarr Award in recognition of his career as a shareholder at Johnson & Bell and his time as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois. The presentation took place during the Chicago Chapter’s Annual Meeting on October 12. Mr. Murray’s son, Tyler Murray, accepted the award on his father’s behalf.
Mr. Murray began his legal career in 1976, highlighted by his service as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois and a Staff Attorney for the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Following a distinguished career in public service, Mr. Murray joined Johnson & Bell in 1991 and retired from the firm in 2013. He was an accomplished trial lawyer, an expert in Federal Procedure and highly respected by the judiciary in the Northern District and 7th Circuit.
Mr. Murray passed away in November of 2020.
