Drivers… start your engines! Johnson & Bell Shareholder, Edward W. Hearn, is working with the Kosciusko County Fair Board to keep auto racing on track at the County’s fairgrounds. Mr. Hearn recently represented the Kosciusko County Fair Board in a lawsuit claiming that motorized racing is being conducted in violation of a previous settlement made in 1990. A group of homeowners who live near the fairgrounds filed a preliminary injunction, hoping to stop the races scheduled for Friday, May 11. However, the Kosciusko County Circuit Court delayed making a decision on the preliminary injunction relief hearing and that means the races will proceed as scheduled. The races help the Board generate revenue to keep operating the fairgrounds. If the racing is halted, the Board will struggle to keep the fairgrounds open and available to the public, explained Mr. Hearn.
