Madeline C. Vitanovec concentrates her practice in the areas of medical malpractice litigation, hospital liability defense, and long-term care litigation. She represents hospitals, universities, physicians, nurses, and nursing homes in a wide variety of medical actions, including disputes related to the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act. Prior to joining Johnson & Bell, Madeline worked as a law clerk at several plaintiff law firms throughout Chicago, as well as a judicial extern for The Honorable Elizabeth M. Budzinski in the Trial Section of Law Division in the Circuit Court of Cook County.
Madeline graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago Law School in 2021. While in law school, Madeline was a Dean’s Scholarship Recipient, a member of the Trial Advocacy and ADR Honors Council, and served as an SBA Legislative Representative. She was also a Semifinalist in the Dean Fred F. Herzog Moot Court Competition. Madeline earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Toledo in 2018. She was a four-year Division I swimmer, team captain, and MAC All-American.
