Johnson & Bell Shareholder, Joseph F. Spitzzeri, will co-present the topic, Class Action Waivers in Arbitration Agreements - Are They Still Viable? at the ALFA International Labor and Employment practice group’s webinar on January 12, 2017. Mr. Spitzzeri will discuss the topic along with Courtney Nichols of Plunkett Cooney’s Labor and Employment Law practice group.
This webinar will highlight a brief history of class action waivers, the movement towards enforceability after the U.S. Supreme Court's landmark AT&T Mobility v. Concepcion decision, and the recent shift away from enforcement after the National Labor Relation Board's ruling in D.R. Horton, Inc. and Michael Cuda. In addition, the presenters will provide "best practices" to drafting and enforcing valid arbitration agreements.
Mr. Spitzzeri is the co-chair of Johnson & Bell’s Employment group. Mr. Spitzzeri also serves as Johnson & Bell's general counsel and secretary.
