Recent Representative Work:
- For one of the largest private security companies in Illinois, we have addressed a range of business issues confronting this client – from reviewing security contracts for upcoming events, crafting employment policies and service animal policies to handling employment discrimination matters, event security liability, parking garage security liability, complex insurance coverage matters and other disputes.
- For a private security company that works under a number of state government contracts, we handle its FLSA and Illinois Minimum Wage Act federal court cases, as well as its ERISA pension/welfare fund contribution deficiency federal court matters.
- Johnson & Bell’s Municipal Liability practice recently handled multiple cases for a police department. All the cases were tried in federal court and involved allegations of civil rights violations against police officers. Since 2009, Johnson & Bell has taken 22 cases to trial, and has had 21 successful outcomes (18 straight not guilty verdicts and 3 split verdicts with nominal damage awards). Our client has been dismissed pursuant to motions for summary judgment motions in two others cases during that time.
