Shareholder Kevin G. Owens recently attended the annual meeting of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) in Phoenix as part of a team from ALFA International, which served as a sponsor of the event. ACC is a global legal association that promotes the common professional and business interests of in-house counsel who work for corporations, associations, and other organizations through information, education, networking, and advocacy. As an event sponsor, ALFA had the opportunity to share with ACC members the global reach that ALFA affords corporations doing business in the US and abroad through its network of 80 U.S. firms with offices in 95 of the 100 largest metropolitan areas, and its 70 international firms located throughout Europe, Asia, Australia/New Zealand, Africa, Canada, Mexico and South America. Mr. Owens is a past-chair of ALFA’s Product Liability & Complex Torts Practice Group, is a member of that practice group’s steering committee, and presently serves as Vice Chair of ALFA International’s Board of Directors. Mr. Owens is a shareholder and co-chair of Johnson & Bell’s Product Liability practice group. His civil litigation practice includes the defense and trial of catastrophic injury, consumer and other product liability actions, construction and general negligence actions, and the litigation of commercial disputes in state and federal courts. His experience also includes litigation of construction product defect actions, and litigation of contract actions at law and equity.
