Tammy L. Wade concentrates her practice on the defense of hospitals, physicians, nurses and other health care professionals in all phases of medical malpractice litigation. She also represents clients in commercial litigation matters and has extensive experience in complex product liability litigation.
Ms. Wade is recognized by the American Hospital Association as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management. She frequently lectures at seminars and conferences focusing on issues impacting healthcare risk management and quality improvement professionals. Ms. Wade is a member of the faculty of the American Conference Institute's Obstetric Malpractice conference, where she has addressed litigation defense strategies in medical malpractice cases involving obstetrics, neurotrauma, spinal and brain injuries.
Ms. Wade is immediate past-president of the Chicagoland Healthcare Risk Management Society (CHRMS) and remains a member of its executive board.
Ms. Wade previously worked for the Massachusetts Port Authority where she addressed operational and legal issues for Logan Airport, including
airport property liabilities, litigation arising out of infrastructure projects, airport vendor insurance requirements, airline issues arising from regulations, contracts, and issues arising out of airlines leasing the gates at terminals and injuries occurring on the leased space.
She has represented manufacturers of products imported into the United States from foreign markets and has expertise in compliance with a multitude of governmental regulations. Her background has included advising body politics on international business transactions; import-export taxes and user fees; domestic construction project management; and regulatory compliance.
