Shana J. Scheid focuses her practice on premises liability, construction law, product liability and transportation law. She has successfully represented insureds in coverage disputes with their carriers and individuals in contract disputes with former employers.

Ms. Scheid has litigated 49 jury trials to verdict and 12 bench trials to judgment. She has extensive experience in representing clients in arbitration proceedings in Cook and the surrounding counties, and in successfully negotiating settlements for clients at all stages of litigation. She has successfully disposed of claims against her clients through motion practice at the pleading stage and through summary judgment.

Ms. Scheid also has experience representing the interests of condominium associations as well as property management groups in all areas from collections to drafting governing documents for a newly formed association created by the merger of six separate associations while in bankruptcy. Further, Ms. Scheid has successfully represented appeals in Cook County circuit court of administrative matters heard by Illinois Department of Human Services.

Ms. Scheid is licensed to practice in the State of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (Trial Bar) and she is a Certified Arbitrator for the Cook and DuPage County Mandatory Arbitration Programs.

Ms. Scheid received her undergraduate degree from Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame and her law degree from DePaul University College of Law.  She is a member of the Woman’s Bar Association of Illinois and Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel, and Defense Research Institute.

Ms. Scheid has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in personal injury defense by Chicago Magazine and Illinois Super Lawyers in 2016 and as an “Emerging Lawyer” in 2015 by Leading Lawyers magazine. These honors reflect that Ms. Scheid has been selected by her peers and advisory boards in a rigorous rating process and proven herself professional, ethical and experienced at an early point in her legal career.
