Robert J. Dignam represents employers in state and federal court in Indiana, in federal court in Illinois, before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Indianapolis and Chicago, and before state and local civil rights commissions. He counsels clients on employment and labor law issues, represents clients before the National Labor Relations Board, and serves as lead negotiator in collective bargaining.
Mr. Dignam is an experienced civil mediator, having mediated numerous matters pending in state and federal courts. He has presented continuing legal education seminars about mediating employment law disputes, has helped teach future mediators at the Indiana University McKinney School of Law, and regularly teaches a course at Purdue University Northwest involving communication skills and dispute resolution in the workplace. Mr. Dignam is a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Council of the Indiana State Bar Association. In addition to his mediation training, Mr. Dignam has presented at continuing legal education seminars at the request of the Indiana Civil Rights Commission, and he has also authored many articles addressing various areas of employment law.
Another regular activity of Mr. Dignam is service as a medical review panel chairman, guiding parties through the panel process in accordance with the Indiana Medical Malpractice Act. Mr. Dignam has served clients in matters related to environmental law and occupational safety, and he also represents an Indiana public school corporation. Finally, when requested by counsel for parties in civil litigation, Mr. Dignam serves in the role of arbitrator.
Mr. Dignam has attained the Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating. He is a recipient of the Martindale-Hubbell Client Distinction Award, based upon a recognition of his abilities in Quality of Service, Overall Value, Responsiveness, and Communication Ability. Mr. Dignam has been repeatedly recognized as an Indiana Super Lawyer in the area of Employment and Labor Law.
