Michael A. Sarafin focuses his practice on health care and corporate law, with an emphasis on the defense of medical malpractice claims against hospitals, physicians and other health care providers. He also handles professional liability cases, including legal malpractice disputes. Admitted to practice in Indiana and Illinois, Mr. Sarafin has tried cases throughout Northwest Indiana and Northeast Illinois. Prior to joining Johnson & Bell, he served as a Magistrate Judge in the Lake County Circuit Court for five years. During his time on the bench, he presided over complex commercial cases, personal injury matters and other legal issues. Mr. Sarafin’s general corporate practice includes representing clients in business and real estate transactions and in commercial litigation including breach of contract cases, business torts, fiduciary duty claims, and partnership disputes.
