Matthew T. Fletcher represents health care facilities, providers, and higher education institutions in medical malpractice and premises liability litigation. This includes pre-litigation and appellate work.  These cases have included high-exposure claims for catastrophic injuries and wrongful death.

Prior to joining Johnson & Bell, Mr. Fletcher worked at another personal injury litigation defense firm in Chicago defending over-the-road transportation companies in civil suits for bodily injury and property damage, including catastrophic losses.

Before entering private practice, Mr. Fletcher was an Assistant Attorney General with the Office of the Illinois Attorney General. While there, he defended State agencies, officials and employees in federal civil rights litigation, including cases related to the provision of medical care to persons incarcerated in the Illinois Department of Corrections.  He has tried seven cases to verdict, including two as first-chair.

Mr. Fletcher received his B.A. in Political Science from Miami University in 2006, and his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 2011.
