As Chair of Johnson & Bell’s Appellate practice group, David M. Macksey has nearly 20 years of trial and appellate experience, primarily in professional liability and business litigation. Mr. Macksey has successfully prosecuted and defended appeals involving claims of professional liability of business and medical professionals, as well as claims involving contract disputes, employment, products liability, premises liability, consumer fraud and business torts. A member of the Appellate Lawyers Association and the Illinois State Bar Association, he was honored in Super Lawyers in 2007, 2009 and 2010 by independent publisher Law & Politics.
He writes for several publications, including Practice Alert, from the Illinois State Bar Association Mutual Insurance Company, as well as Johnson & Bell’s Business Law Report.
He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa, and his J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law.
