Catherine Breitweiser-Hurst focuses her practice in product liability, transportation law, and general negligence. She recently helped secure partial summary judgment in a transportation case, halting the plaintiff’s attempt to expand the potential liability of her client. In addition, Ms. Breitweiser-Hurst routinely defends several national retailers and hospitality companies in premises liability disputes. She recently concluded a bench trial for a hospitality client where she got the case dismissed by arguing the plaintiff presented insufficient evidence to meet her burden of proof. She also represents insurance companies and their insured parties in disputes involving serious personal injury.
Catherine is a U.S. Navy veteran, who pursued her education following her enlistment. After receiving her J.D. from Valparaiso University, Catherine spent more than 10 years as a deputy prosecuting attorney in Indiana, where she successfully litigated several major felony jury trials.
Catherine is a member of the Lake County Indiana Bar Association.
