Catherine Breitweiser-Hurst focuses her practice in product liability, transportation law, and general negligence. She recently helped secure partial summary judgment in a transportation case, halting the plaintiff’s attempt to expand the potential liability of her client. In addition, Ms. Breitweiser-Hurst routinely defends several national retailers and hospitality companies in premises liability disputes. She also represents insurance companies and their insured parties in disputes involving serious personal injury.
Catherine is a U.S. Navy veteran, who pursued her education following her enlistment. After receiving her J.D. from Valparaiso University, Catherine spent more than 10 years as a deputy prosecuting attorney in Indiana, where she successfully litigated several major felony jury trials.
Catherine is a mentor for participants in Lake County Veterans Treatment Court, and a member of the Calumet Inns of Court.
