Amber N. Lukowicz concentrates her practice in the areas of product liability, insurance coverage and defense, general liability and employment. Ms. Lukowicz began working at Johnson & Bell as a law clerk in the summer of 2014 and went on to formally join the firm as an associate attorney in 2016.
Ms. Lukowicz has represented insurers in first-party insurance claims, including bad faith claims and actions for extra-contractual damages, and coverage actions involving commercial general liability as well as personal lines coverages such as auto and homeowners coverages. Ms. Lukowicz has also defended third-party insurance claims in a wide variety of scenarios including auto, personal injury, negligence and contracts. Ms. Lukowicz’s employment practice includes defending employers in EEOC and IDHR administrative proceedings, OSHA investigations and proceedings in federal and state courts arising from Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, the Equal Pay Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Illinois Minimum Wage Law and claims brought under the Illinois Human Rights Act. Her employment practice also includes counseling on and the drafting of employment policies, as well as employee training, to ensure compliance with federal and state law.
Ms. Lukowicz is a Certified Mediator by the Chicago Center for Conflict Resolution and has mediated small claims cases at the Cook County Courthouse.
Ms. Lukowicz earned her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law. While in law school, she was the Associate Editor of the Chicago-Kent Journal of International and Comparative Law and President of the Chicago Kent Society of Women in Law. Additionally, Ms. Lukowicz was a member of the Chicago-Kent Alternative Dispute Resolution Team and placed 3rd in Regional Competition in Negotiation.
Outside of Johnson & Bell, Ms. Lukowicz is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association, Women's Bar Association of Illinois, and the Illinois Bar Association.
