Alexandria L. Bell is an experienced trial attorney, who concentrates her practice in the areas of municipal/governmental tort liability and product liability matters.
Ms. Bell was a part of the trial team that successfully defended one of the largest power tool manufacturers before a federal jury in a dispute alleging defective design of their table saw. She also successfully defended food suppliers and restaurants in food poisoning cases involving serious permanent injuries. Ms. Bell tackles each product liability dispute with a thoughtfulness and thoroughness that is necessary for successful resolution in each case.
Ms. Bell's legal acumen was also demonstrated in handling numerous federal court jury trials involving allegations of excessive force, unlawful arrests, illegal searches and other Constitutional violations against the City of Chicago and Chicago police officers. Her tireless efforts on behalf of her clients throughout every phase of the trial have resulted in successful jury verdicts in favor of her clients in each case she tried. Due to these and other successful jury verdicts, according to the City of Chicago Law Department, the police misconduct lawsuits have fallen dramatically and the results are "astonishing."
Ms. Bell also assists her clients in general commercial litigation matters, including the defense of debt buyers and debt collectors in individual and class action cases in federal and state courts.
The resulting outcomes of Ms. Bell's work, either through trials, motions to dismiss, or motions for summary judgment, have brought positive recognition and appreciation from her clients.
Before joining Johnson & Bell, Ms. Bell earned her law degree from DePaul University College of Law, where she won Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction awards for Business Planning and Legal Drafting. Fluent in Ukrainian and Russian, she previously assisted the Ukrainian Consulate staff with various immigration, economic, and international adoption matters.
