We are very excited to introduce six new Associate Attorneys who have joined Johnson & Bell.
Mallory G. Burney concentrates her practice in the areas of medical malpractice litigation, hospital liability defense, and long-term care litigation. She represents hospitals, universities, physicians, nurses, and nursing homes in a wide variety of medical actions, including disputes related to the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act. Mallory earned her JD from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2021 and her BA from Lake Forest College in 2017.
Nancy Dueñez concentrates her practice on municipal liability. Prior to joining Johnson & Bell, she worked at a plaintiff’s class action firm for two years. Ms. Dueñez earned her JD from DePaul University College of Law in 2020 and her BA from DePaul University in 2013. She is a member of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois (WBAI) and the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois (HLAI).
Marijo D. Enderle concentrates her practice on commercial litigation and professional liability. She graduated from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in 2021. While in law school, Ms. Enderle served as a Managing Editor on the Northwestern University Law Review. She was a judicial extern for the Honorable Sara Ellis, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois as well as an extern at the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Illinois Attorney General’s Office. Prior to law school, she worked for the Federal Public Defender’s Office. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2016.
Brian J. McKenna concentrates his practice in commercial and business litigation as well as technology and internet law. Brian worked as a law clerk at Johnson & Bell prior to joining the firm as an Associate Attorney in March 2021. During his time at Johnson & Bell, Mr. McKenna has worked on corporate mergers, helped create new corporate entities, and drafted operating and partnership agreements. He also has addressed commercial foreclosures, handled issues for clients before the Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulation, assisted with a FINRA arbitration and helped bring consumer disputes against commercial entities. He earned his JD from DePaul University College of Law in 2020 and his BA from Marquette University in 2010.
Laura M. Nishimura concentrates her practice on handling premises liability, general negligence, transportation and trucking cases involving personal injury disputes. Ms. Nishimura graduated from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and was admitted to the Illinois bar in 2019. Prior to joining Johnson & Bell, she was a judicial law clerk for the justices of the Supreme Court of Guam where she researched issues of first impression and drafted judicial opinions disposing of civil and criminal appeals. As a member of the Rules Committee, Ms. Nishimura helped draft and revise the Guam Rules of Lawyer Discipline and Enforcement and presented a CLE to the Guam Bar Association on the regulatory changes. Laura earned her undergraduate degree from University of Washington in 2003.
Nicholas A. Sandowski concentrates his practice in commercial and business litigation, and transportation. He served as a law clerk at Johnson & Bell before joining the firm as an Associate Attorney. Nick earned his JD from UIC John Marshall Law School (2021) and received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University (2017).
