Johnson & Bell Shareholder, Robert J. Dignam, obtained summary judgment from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois for his hospital client in an employment law case involving a nurse who claimed age, sex, disability and race discrimination. In this case, a registered nurse was terminated based on a two-year pattern of rude and otherwise inappropriate behavior. The plaintiff countered that the real reason she was terminated is that she was female, African American, over 40, or pregnant. Plaintiff’s four-count complaint alleged violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Defense sought summary judgment arguing that the plaintiff lacked evidence to support her claims.
