Johnson & Bell is proud to announce the recent promotion of five attorneys at our firm. Susan M. Hannigan and Lynn M. Reid have been promoted to equity Shareholders in the firm. David A. Cyr, Nicholas R. Lykins and Rory L. Margulis have been promoted to Shareholders. Please join us in congratulating each of our colleagues on this achievement.
Susan M. Hannigan concentrates her practice in the areas of health care and medical liability, where she defends hospitals, long-term care facilities, physicians, nurses and other health care professionals in all phases of medical malpractice litigation, including birth trauma defense, long-term care litigation and appellate work. In addition, she regularly advises her clients on a variety of health care-related business issues, including policies and procedures, statutory issues, risk management concerns, contracts, and other issues.
Lynn M. Reid is a registered nurse and litigator with an emphasis on medical and nursing malpractice. Ms. Reid has defended hospitals, nursing homes, physicians and other providers in negligence claims. She has also counseled her health care clients on non-litigation issues relating to policies and procedures, statutory issues, risk management concerns and other non-litigation matters. She has lectured on numerous healthcare and hospital related legal topics. Her other litigation experience includes insurance bad faith claims, premises and general liability, and business litigation.
David A. Cyr concentrates his practice on product and premises liability claims. Mr. Cyr defends asbestos and toxic tort claims that arise from occupational and other exposures. His experience handling asbestos litigation is on a local and national level, defending clients such as construction contractors, insulation contractors, industrial product and equipment manufacturers and premises owners. He is a graduate of the Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Mr. Cyr belongs to the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.
Nicholas R. Lykins handles premises liability concerns and real estate-related issues, including lease and contract enforcement disputes, for some of the largest shopping mall and retail center property owners in the United States. He also represents clients ranging from a Fortune Global 500 company to local product manufacturers and premises owners in asbestos and toxic tort litigation. He represents these clients throughout Illinois and in Northwest Indiana. Additionally, Mr. Lykins is chair of the Medical Cannabis group and co-chair of the Energy group.
Rory L. Margulis focuses his practice in construction, product liability, toxic tort and transportation law. Mr. Margulis represents a variety of clients including owners, project managers, product manufacturers, premise owners and transportation companies in all areas of litigation. He has tried cases to verdict and handled numerous appeals for his clients in Cook County, Illinois, and the surrounding counties. Mr. Margulis came to Johnson & Bell with extensive courtroom and trial experience. He previously represented the Fraternal Order of Police as a plaintiff’s attorney, and served at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.
