D. Patterson Gloor, Stephen P. Ellenbecker and Steven M. Shear have joined Johnson & Bell, Ltd., where they will continue to handle mass tort, product liability and commercial litigation matters. All three attorneys previously were Partners at The Gloor Law Group and will join Johnson & Bell as Shareholders.

D. Patterson Gloor has represented some of the country’s biggest companies in their most important civil litigation. He has tried more than 200 cases to verdict, in state and federal courts across the country, winning a national reputation for his skill with juries. His practice includes mass tort and environmental litigation (often as national coordinating counsel), professional negligence, products liability, and commercial litigation. Mr. Gloor also renders opinions on insurance coverage matters and handles declaratory judgment suits seeking judicial declaration of rights and responsibilities under insurance policies.
Stephen P. Ellenbecker concentrates his practice in the areas of product liability, construction, and general civil litigation. Among other areas, he was a trial attorney on cases involving the food industry and the welding industry. He works on litigation as both local and national counsel and coordinates scheduling, discovery and trial work with national and local counsel, respectively. Mr. Ellenbecker was selected as one of the "Forty Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch" for 2008 by Chicago's Law Bulletin Publishing Company, publishers of Chicago Lawyer magazine and the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. This highly coveted distinction recognizes him as one of the top young attorneys in his field.
Steven Shear focuses his practice in the area of product liability, mass torts and general civil litigation. He has successfully represented both plaintiffs and defendants in employment matters at trial. He has represented the welding industry, alcohol manufacturers, garment manufacturers, tool manufacturers and vitamin manufacturers in product liability cases. Mr. Shear has worked as both local and national coordinating counsel.
In addition to the attorneys, two Paralegals, Angela Shannon and Sinead O’Donoghue, Staff Accountant, Tara Nour, and Secretary, Lizette Ochoa, will be joining Johnson & Bell.
