Johnson & Bell, Ltd. is pleased to welcome Shareholder Robert J. Dignam and Associate Alan M. Kus to its Crown Point, Indiana Office. Dignam, who concentrates on employment law for corporations, small companies and hospitals, will enhance Johnson & Bell’s employment practice in Indiana and the Chicagoland area. Kus will focus primarily on defending medical malpractice claims on behalf of the Indiana office’s health care clients.
“We are seeing strong growth among our health care clients for both medical malpractice work and employment law work,” stated Edward W. Hearn, managing shareholder of the Indiana office. “In addition, with Bob’s corporate background, we believe we can attract more employment work from local and regional companies. We are also seeing a rising demand from our clients who see trial as a potential resolution. Dignam and Kus will expand Johnson & Bell’s ability to meet those demands,” he said.
Dignam concentrates his practice in employment, labor, health care and litigation matters, as well as mediation. With over 28 years of experience, he has practiced before the Indiana Civil Rights Commission, the Illinois Department of Human Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the National Labor Relations Board. He has been involved with labor negotiations and mediations, arbitrated for the American Arbitration Association and chaired medical review panels, as well as practicing in both the federal and state courts.
Kus concentrates his practice in medical malpractice defense. Before joining Johnson & Bell, he worked as an associate attorney with Bruce P. Clark & Associates.
