Johnson & Bell Shareholder, Gregory D. Conforti, will be a featured speaker at the American Trucking Associations’ Forum for Motor Carrier General Counsel from July 17-20, 2016 in Bellevue, Washington. Those representing the legal interests of the motor carriers (internally and externally) come from around the country to discuss the most pressing legal issues, cases, regulations, and trends affecting trucking companies and the industry at large.  In addition to the latest on employment/HR issues (independent contractor, NLRB, Wage-Hour and Overtime issues) and operational / safety concerns (CSA and Safety Fitness Rule legal concerns, seatbelt gag rule, the new food safety rule, NTSB Investigations, and broker and logistics liability), the Forum includes a Symposium on Highway Accident Litigation which will address Fatigue Management, Expert Testimony: Human Factors; Accident Reconstruction and Defense Resources; Medical Testimony, Life Care and Inflated Damages.

Mr. Conforti will present the topic, “Using the Affordable Health Care Act (ACA) to Mitigate Future Medical Claims,” that was prepared by Associate Attorney, Julie J. Busch. The presentation will discuss the status of the ACA and how it can be used to potentially – and substantially -- reduce future medical claims.

Gregory D. Conforti is co-chair of the Transportation group at Johnson & Bell, Ltd. in Chicago, Illinois. Clients regularly retain Mr. Conforti for their most complex transportation and construction litigation cases, including lawsuits involving serious personal injury and death, catastrophic cases or when substantial monetary damages are at stake.
