Johnson & Bell Associate Caroline K. Vickrey will speak at the Chicagoland Healthcare Risk Management Society (CHRMS) Law Day on Friday, Nov. 16 at the James Hotel in Chicago. Ms. Vickrey will be summarizing case law on a variety of health care topics, including the privileges that apply under the Medical Studies Act and the Federal Patient Safety Act; the interaction of Wrongful Death Act, medical malpractice statutes of limitation/repose, and relation back statutes; vicarious liability; and other relevant issues that have been addressed by Illinois courts over the past year.

In addition to Ms. Vickrey's presentation, Johnson & Bell Shareholder and CHRMS President, Stacey A. Cischke, will be presenting the opening remarks for the event.  Ms. Cischke has extensive experience in the representation of physicians, dentists and healthcare institutions. She represents several Chicago-area teaching hospitals, as well as individual physicians and practice groups. Ms. Cischke handles all aspects of litigation and has tried multiple medical malpractice cases to verdict.

CHRMS is an affiliated chapter of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) and was established in 1980. CHRMS promotes patient safety and provides tools aimed at diminishing risk and lability to patients and healthcare organizations.
