Robert J. Comfort focuses in general negligence, premises liability, transportation and trucking, hotel hospitality, as well as medical malpractice. Mr. Comfort has handled numerous complex/catastrophic or class action cases which include product liability claims, aviation accidents and product release from train tank car accidents. Mr. Comfort has represented a national hotel chain, and handled cases in several states. In addition to Illinois, he has appeared as trial counsel in Colorado, Florida, Michigan, Nevada, New York and Texas. For the ALFA Hospitality Fall Seminar's "Compendium, 2012," Mr. Comfort co-wrote an article analyzing the "Illinois Spoliation of Evidence Law." He frequently lectures on issues affecting the relationship between franchisor and franchisee, and the critical role control plays in assessing liability when mishaps occur on a franchised property.

Holder of an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, Mr. Comfort is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel, the Trial Lawyers Club of Chicago and the American Law Firm Association Hospitality Law Section.

He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Santa Clara, and his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame.
